Aztec Wrestling Trivia: Monday will be the designated “Red Flag Day” based off of the Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling program did while under Dan Gable. When Coach Gable was not happy with his wrestlers' performance, he would fly a Red Flag at the University flag pole telling his wrestlers to be prepared for a grueling practice. In our case, it designates the toughest physical and mental practice of the year, to get ready for STATE. Two and a half hours of pure conditioning. If you live through this, you can do anything: Mind over matter..... the Aztec Wrestling Way.
