2019-2020 Tiger Takedown #10 Aztec Wrestling Newsletter 2/3/2020
With the season winding down, anticipation of winning a third State Championship comes to the foreground. A decisive win against always tough and 3rd ranked Cedaredge, Colorado helped set the stage for a possible undefeated dual season. With Bloomfield next week and the district duals next Saturday, these are all that stand in the way. Although the dual with Cedaredge ended as a blow out, with at score of 54-27, it was a much harder fought victory than the score proved to be. Then on Saturday, at the always tough Butch Melton Invitational, Aztec slipped back ever so slightly to take 3rd place. While leaving 3 weights open, due to commitments and recovering from injuries, it proved to be a little more than we were able to overcome. Cedaredge was able to win the tournament for the first time.
