Aztec Wrestling Nation Newsletter #2 2021-2022 12/6/2021
The first week of Varsity action was very revealing about our strengths and weaknesses. The object of the early season is to iron out those situations and try to improve as much as possible. We firmly believe it is not how you start a race, but rather how you finish. Well I'm happy to say, we have lots to improve on, and the finish is in February. Thursday was our annual Teacher Appreciation Night dual. As a High School wrestling program we want to THANK our teachers and administration for all they do for us. A small token of that appreciation was given that night to those who were in attendance. Again, Thank you!!!!!
Thursday’s dual versus Bayfield was won by Aztec by a score of 64-18.
We took second place at the Annual Bloomfield Tournament. This year it was a duals tournament, with 12 other teams.
1st dual was versus Grants and we won 63-18. 4th dual was versus Durango and we won 41-39.
2nd dual was versus Gallup and we won 72-3. 5th dual was versus Bloomfield and we won 42-38.
3rd dual we lost to Farmington 54-2.2
Our early dual season record stands at 5-1.
