Aztec Wrestling Nation Newsletter #2 2021 4/19/2021
The High School wrestling team was finally able to get its feet wet after a lengthy hiatus! Although shorthanded, due to COVID, we came away with second place at the Battle for Honor Duals Tournament at Miyamura High School in Gallup. The day was challenging for the young Tiger wrestlers, giving up as much as 36 points in forfeits in each dual due to missing 6 team members. We were able to come away with two very important District wins towards defending our District title.
Our low-in-numbers Middle School team showed improvement once again on Friday at the Hermosa Scramble. Our developmental Youth program continues to practice at the YFL field, as life in the COVID era continues to make things hard. We, as a wrestling program, are thankful for the opportunity to wrestle.

Princess had the best matches of the day. She beat Miyamura’s 145# varsity boy by fall and then lost a great match to Miyamura’s college signee State Champion Aycock 5-3, in a last second takedown.
